A 39-year-old man was arrested for burglary Sunday after he allegedly lived in a families guest house while they were out of town for a few days.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said the family returned to their house in Village of Oak Creek, Arizona, and found James Woods removing furniture from their guest home. He admitted to staying in the guest house since Sept. 23 and said that he was moving furniture because the pieces did not "suit his style."
Woods also told police that he had been eating the families food and consuming their drinks and also opened a package that contained an $1,800 check. YCSO said Woods had keys to the main house that had been hidden on the families property.
Deputies are also investigating another burglary that happened in the area that may be connected to the suspect.
Woods was booked on charges including burglary, trespassing and theft on a $2,500 bond.
