1 of 2 people found dead in vehicle in West Phoenix parking lot identified as missing person

The incident happened Sunday evening outside of a Longhorn Steakhouse near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road, police said.

PHOENIX — Two people who were found dead in a parking lot in west Phoenix had been there for "several days," according to the Phoenix Police Department. One of the two deceased individuals has been identified as a missing person.

The bodies were found Sunday evening near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road. 

After a preliminary investigation, detectives said the man had a gunshot wound and a firearm was found inside the car. 

The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death. 

On July 19, police identified the woman as 25-year-old Doris Maricela Aguilar and the man as 51-year-old Juan Jose Velis Cuellar. The injuries Cuellar suffered were self-inflicted, police said.

Police did not specify which person identified was the missing person.
