Police in Tempe say a man is in custody for allegedly luring young girls for sexual exploitation.
Detectives say 20-year-old Jarre Bjelic is being held on suspicion of 18 felony offenses.
He's accused of sexual conduct with a minor, theft by extortion, computer tampering, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and fraudulent schemes.
Police say Bjelic allegedly used social media websites to meet young girls and claimed to have a modeling agency where he requested they work for him.
They say Bjelic allegedly persuaded the victims to send him nude photos of themselves, believing they were being looked at as potential models.
When victims sent Bjelic photos, he allegedly would threaten to use those photos against them if they didn't send more pictures.
A spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Bjelic was a member of the MCSO posse until Thursday. He is no longer a posseman because of the criminal investigation, the spokesman said.
It's unclear if Bjelic has a lawyer.
