Reward offered for info on Mesa man found dead in car on Loop 202

DPS is investigating the man's death as a homicide. Anyone with info is encouraged to contact investigators.

MESA, Ariz. — A Mesa man was found dead behind the wheel early on the morning of Jan. 28 on Red Mountain Loop 202 and his death is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

An AZDPS trooper checked on a vehicle stopped in the area of eastbound State Route 202 near Alma School Road at 1:43 a.m. The trooper discovered a man who was deceased from a gunshot wound behind the wheel of the vehicle that was stopped in the freeway's left shoulder, according to AZDPS. 

The victim was likely shot somewhere between Dobson Road and the Alma School Road off-ramp.

The man has been identified as Keith Henion, 50, of Mesa.

Silent Witness is offering a $2,000 reward for information on Henion's death.
