PHOENIX — Valley Metro's light rail service was shut down Wednesday morning between Phoenix and Tempe due to a power outage caused by an incident that occurred north of Sky Harbor Airport.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, service had been restored to the stations impacted by Wednesday's outage. Passengers must board trains on the westbound platform at the following stations:

• 38th St/Washington
• 44th St/Washington
• 50th St/Washington

Valley Metro said the outage was caused by an incident reported on Washington Street near SR-143, which did not involve the light rail.

A separate incident reported Wednesday was causing delays with the street car service in Tempe due to a collision at Apache Boulevard and Norma Avenue.
