Lauren Daigle brings tour, music from self-titled album to the Valley

Daigle’s concert at Desert Diamond Arena is part of her first tour since the COVID-19 pandemic and features music from her self-titled album ‘Lauren Daigle.'

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Valley won’t be "Waiting" for too much longer… Lauren Daigle takes the stage at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Saturday Nov. 11, alongside guest Victory Boyd, as part of her Kaleidoscope Tour.

Daigle is a Grammy Award-winning artist and was most recently honored as a three-time Billboard Music Awards Finalist. After releasing her EP “How Can It Be” in 2014, Daigle has created multiple singles, a Christmas album, her 2018 “Look Up Child” album and her newest album, “Lauren Daigle.”

While Daigle grew up in Louisiana and her music is influenced by Bayou culture, she also spent time in Arizona – some of her relatives live in State 48 and her family would take vacations here. Daigle said she loves hiking, especially in the desert mountains, which are so different from the marshes she grew up in.

“For me, I love coming to Arizona because we’ve gone there so many times that it feels like the audience really knows me now,” Daigle told 12News in an interview. “It feels like we’re just grabbing more people along the way… I feel like the fan base [here] is so welcoming, really fun.”

Her concert in Glendale is part of her Kaleidoscope tour, her first tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Daigle said she had to “get her sea legs back” for heavy touring – especially now, since Daigle extended her Kaleidoscope tour into 2024.

“At the very beginning I thought to myself, ‘I don’t know how I am going to hold up,’” Daigle said. “There was definitely a little fear involved.”

It is also her first tour since the release of her self-titled album, which was a finalist for the Billboard Music Awards Top Christian Album. The album features 23 tracks – 10 of which were released in the spring and the final thirteen were released Sep. 8.

Daigle said when she entered the music industry, she was “so green.” A majority of the first ten years of her career were spent learning and “being a sponge.”

“This past record was the first time I feel like I was really able to, from an educated standpoint, express and communicate what was needed to get certain sounds across,” Daigle said. “This was the first time I felt I could go into a studio and communicate what I need. I could go into a writing room and communicate what I need. And not only that, but I can also bring ideas to the forefront.”

As Daigle prepares to return to the Valley and her fans get ready to see her live, she said she hopes concert-goers walk away from the experience more than just entertained.

“The thing that I hope people walk away [with] is just a touch from God,” Daigle said.

“Whether that’s feeling hope for the first time over a situation, whether that’s having elements of comfort throughout the night if you’re someone who's grieving, whether it's feeling like you got joy deeper than you’ve felt in years – whatever that is, it’s different for every person, but that they would get that special touch from God.”
