Is this your dog? Several lost dogs already turned into Maricopa County Animal Care & Control on Fourth of July holiday.

PHOENIX — It's the Fourth of July and Maricopa County Animal Care & Control has already taken in a number of lost dogs.

The shelter sees an uptick in the intake of dogs around holidays like the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve because dogs are easily scared by the loud noises made by fireworks.

This year is no exception and the shelter is urging anyone who has lost their dog to come in and claim it.

Important infromation

The West shelter is located at 2500 S. 27th Avenue in Phoenix and East shelter at 1920 S. Lewis in Mesa. Pet owners can visit these locations to see if their furry family member has been turned in.

Shelters are open from 12-6 p.m. on weekdays, and 12-5 p.m. on weekends. You can also call 602-506-7387 for more information.
