GLENDALE, Ariz. - Authorities said a man shot his mother-in-law before shooting himself in Glendale Friday afternoon.
Police arrived at the scene near 49th and Peoria avenues around 3:30 p.m. and found a male and female with gunshot wounds. Ricky L. Bailey, 59 and Pearl Mary Merenyi, 85, were transported to a nearby hospital. Their injuries were life-threatening, police said.
Both Bailey and Merenyi died from their injuries at the hospital, police said.
According to police, Bailey and Merenyi lived together at the house where the incident occurred.
The investigation has led detectives to believe this incident was a murder-suicide. Officers aren't looking for any outstanding suspects but the investigation is ongoing.
