GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A Glendale man was busted last week with more than $300,000 worth of drugs and a stolen Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputy's vest and AR-15.
The Goodyear Police Department say the large narcotics bust started with a traffic stop on Aug. 9. Police say the driver of the car did not have a license and the passenger, 23-year-old Diego Diaz Gamez, had two grams of marijuana with him.
Upon a further vehicle search, police found 9.9 pounds of white heroin, 7.4 pounds of black heroin, 1.86 pounds of cocaine, 1.56 pounds of methamphetamine, 2,500 fentanyl pills and $44,312 in cash.
Police then served a search warrant at Gamez's Glendale house and found more drugs, the stolen MCSO equipment and military-style flak vest.
The 23-year-old was arrested and booked into the 4th Avenue Jail. He is facing several charges, including sale of narcotic drugs, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and money laundering.
