GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Glendale Fire Department is investigating a possible fire at Horizon Elementary School after heavy smoke was detected Tuesday morning inside one of the school's classrooms.
Someone had set a roll of toilet paper on fire in of the school's classrooms, Glendale Fire said. The fire was small but it produced a heavy amount of smoke.
The fire and smoke resulted in students getting evacuated from the campus, which is located near 47th and Olive avenues.
No signs of a fire were initially visible from the school's exterior, Glendale Fire said.
The Glendale Elementary School District said all students and staff were safe.
