The department said the fire started in a mobile home near 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street. When firefighters arrived, it had already spread to four more homes.

Phoenix Fire Captain Todd Keller said narrow streets and faraway hydrants initially challenged firefighters.
The proximity of the homes aided the fire in quickly jumping from building to building.
"It's sometimes difficult in these mobile homes, it's very thin roadways and sometimes hydrants are located in difficult positions, but we were able to mitigate that and adapt and knock this fire down. It could have been a lot worse," Keller said.
The heat also challenged firefighters.
The response was raised to a second alarm, allowing crews to layer resources and keep firefighters from becoming overheated.
Residents forced to evacuate were sent to Moya Elementary School to be checked by paramedics.
Video from Sky12 shows several mobile homes damaged in the blaze.
Decades of memories and personal belongings were left behind in the rubble.
“All my laptops, all my work clothes, like everything, all my school supplies all got burned down," Jessie Pelayo Garcia said.
Pelayo Garcia said he's leaning on faith as his family is forced to start over.
“One minute it’s there, the next minute it’s not. You just got to appreciate all these little things," Pelayo Garcia said.
A GoFundMe page was created to help the Pelayo family start over. Anyone who wishes to donate can click here.
The Red Cross is helping people displaced from their homes.
Investigators are still working to figure out what caused the fire.
This is a developing story; additional details will be added as they become available.
