Crews responded to the UMOM shelter near 32nd Avenue and Van Buren Street at around 5:30 p.m., the fire department's spokesperson Capt. Todd Keller said.

The fire, which activated sprinklers, started in the laundry room at the family house hub, according to Keller.

"Firefighters quickly made entry to assure the flames had not extended into the structure," said Keller.

No injuries were reported.

Keller said no one will be displaced by the fire.
