A Valley father of four children is pleading for help after a road rage shooting that nearly took his life.
Felipe Romero, 24, says he was shot 13 times in front of his wife and kids after another driver rear-ended him.
“He pulled his body out the window and kept discharging his fire arm,” said Romero. He says he had gotten out of his truck to talk to the suspect, but that was when the unknown man opened fire.
“I told him I don’t want to die, just leave me alone, just be on your way, whatever reason it is that you have, you won, just let me be, I have kids in the car and I want to go home,” said Romero, but the suspect kept shooting.
“And as I had my arm extended he shot me three or four more times in the chest. He punctured my lung,” added Romero.
The road rage shooting happened earlier this year on April 14, near Colter Street and 55th Avenue. Glendale Police say the suspect is a white male who got away in a green passenger vehicle.
Romero says the suspect’s car is a Lime green 2008 Dodge Charger. He spent months in the hospital but has been able to go back home to his family.
However, he still needs more surgeries to remove numerous bullet fragments embedded in his body.
“I have fragmentations inside my kidneys, inside my liver, I have a bullet fragment that’s inside my spine, inside one of my columns,” said Romero.
He has to come up with a hefty $15,000 for his insurance co-pay to get that medical care. Unable to work and with a family to still provide for, Romero is making a plea to those who can spare some cash.
“I need help… and if you have the means to help, I’d really appreciate it if you could help me… you would be helping my kids.. you’d be helping my wife have her husband around, and you would be helping me to be around for my family,” said Romero.

There's been no word from Glendale Police on a possible arrest in this case.
