PHOENIX - Police say the family of a little boy who was found wandering alone Sunday in a west Phoenix neighborhood has been found.
Officers found the boy, who police believe to be about 2 or 3 years old, at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 7 a.m. Sunday.
Officers tried to locate the child’s family, but had no luck.
Police sent out an update Tuesday morning saying the boy's family had been located.
According to police, there was a "miscommunication" among the family as to who was supposed to be caring for the boy.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
