Explorer Pass gives Valley families a chance to have fun without breaking the bank

The Explorer Pass creator said it usually pays itself off in one visit and most of the offers can be used daily.

GILBERT, Ariz. — From discounts to local movie theatres, haircuts, jump parks and even swim lessons, the Explorer Pass is a great way to have fun with the family and not break the bank. The discounts are available around the Valley.

Here's how it works, the Explorer Pass goes straight to your phone’s wallet. It’s not an app. The pass was created out of a partnership between State 48 and kidizona, a site for Phoenix families to meet up and find fun things to do.

The pass offers different buying options from spending $5 per month per user, to six months for $30 per user or you can buy a kidizona State 48 adult or child shirt to get a six-month explorer pass included with the deal. The adult shirts are $34 and the child sizes are $25.

The pass can be canceled and re-activated whenever works for buyers. Some of the discounts offered with the pass include one free swim lesson at Big Blue Swim School, 50 percent off a one-day jump pass at Big Air in Chandler, discounts at Bricks and Minifigs, Andretti Indoor Karting and Games and more.

Explorer Pass owner Lindsay Valerio said it’s also a great way for local businesses to join for free to offer discounts to customers. That opens more doors for Valley families to have fun and save.

“We just ask that you come up with a savings that’s at least worth five dollars to customers that they can use it once a day if they wanted to," Valerio said. "You get access to local influencers like kidizona and other ones in the Valley that are posting their promo codes, they’re experiences with it.”

On Monday, Aug. 19 and Tuesday, Aug. 20, Explorer Pass is offering 50 percent off of the six-month pass using the promo code - MSMHALF. The cost is normally $30 for that and it drops to $15 per person with the code.
