Emma Jade kicks off our holiday recipe series with a little help from her mom.
The Today in AZ anchor shares her family recipe for delicious candied yams. It’s a holiday recipe that has been in her family for years.
Want to add this dish to your holiday menu? Here’s the breakdown of her recipe.
- 1 large can of cooked yams
- 1 sq. of butter
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 small can of frozen orange juice
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Beat yams with a mixer, add melted or soft butter, brown sugar, defrosted orange juice, nutmeg and cinnamon. When this is well mixed, spoon in 1 1/2 cup of miniature marshmallows and about 1/2 cup of chopped pecans.
Put in baking dish, bake at 300 degrees for 20-30 minutes until marshmallows are melted.
