DPS: 'Chop shop' bust ends in 5 arrests

DPS investigators reported finding stolen cars from Phoenix and Avondale at a Valley business.

PHOENIX — Five people have recently been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in operating a "chop shop" in Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant on June 25 at a business located near 28th Avenue and Buckeye Road, where investigators reported finding several intact and dismantled stolen vehicles.

The intact vehicles had been reported stolen in Phoenix and Avondale.

DPS said Susana Grajales, 49, was taken into custody on suspicion of operating the alleged chop shop. 

Four other individuals were arrested for allegedly stealing cars. They were identified by DPS as Jose Lopez Cruz, 46, Daniel Torres Jurado, 60, and Eddison Elias Macario, 44, and 48-year-old Jose Francisco Diaz Celis.
