BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A woman sustained serious injuries after she was shot multiple times Tuesday morning in a West Valley neighborhood.
The Buckeye Police Department said the shooting took place at a home in the area of McDowell Road and Verrado Way.
Police officials told 12News a woman in her 20s was shot while standing in a doorway by a man who then shot himself. Both individuals were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The victim and suspect had been in a relationship and the incident is being investigated as a "domestic violence situation," police said.
There are no outstanding suspects at this time and no danger to the community, police said.
