Dog pulled from flames at Valley home

A small dog named Buddy was pulled from a home that caught fire in the northeast Valley. No humans or dogs were hurt

SURPRISE, Ariz. — One Valley family still has their furry friend after a dog was pulled from a house fire in Surprise on Saturday.

The Surprise Fire and Medical Department said they were called to a home that had caught fire near Bell and Litchfield Roads.
When they got to the home, they noticed the dog, named Buddy, had run out of the house. However, at some point, Buddy ran back inside. Luckily, firefighters were able to find Buddy in the living room and pull him out of the flames.

In total, four agencies (Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, El Mirage Fire, Sun City Fire and Surprise Fire) fought the fire, which caused major damage to the home. No one was hurt, but nine people were displaced.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
