SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — A stormy Saturday night and Sunday morning kept the Pinal County Sheriff's Office busy.
Deputies even had to rescue a dog in distress in San Tan Valley as the weather rolled through that part of State 48.
Deputies jumped into action to save the dog from a canal.

The dog's rescuers arrived at the scene around 1:50 a.m. after calls reported an animal was crying in distress.
Deputies were able to track the pup's cries to the canal near Hunt Highway and Bella Vista Road. The pup was then pulled to safety from the water.
The sheriff's office said the dog was turned over to Pinal County Animal Care.
