BUCKEYE, Ariz. - After a public worker discovered human remains off a desolate road in Buckeye, many are wondering if they could belong to a missing 10-year-old boy from Buckeye, Jesse Wilson.
It’s still too soon to say who the remains belong to. But we spoke to Buckeye’s police chief, Larry Hall, about the discovery.
Hall said a street sweeper was driving through the area when he noticed something that just wasn’t right.
“A city worker, in the course of his duties, got out of his vehicle to stretch his legs and noticed some human remains on the side of the road,” he said.
The remains were not recent. They were bones – scattered about.
When asked if the remains could be linked to missing Buckeye boy Jesse Wilson, Hall did not rule it out.
The chief said the area was also searched two years ago, after 10-year-old Jesse went missing.
He hasn’t been seen since.
It’s too soon to say whether the bones belonged to an adult or child – male or female. But Hall said he hopes to get concrete answers in the coming weeks.
“Hopefully down the road here we’ll be able to do some DNA testing, and some additional testing, and some additional testing through the DPS lab. We’ll be able to have some more information on who the human being was,” Hall said.
