CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Chandler Unified School District sent a letter, which was obtained by 12 News, to parents Friday morning saying Hamilton High School Principal Ken James and Athletic Director Shawn Rustad would not be returning to the school.
The decision comes despite James and Rustad never being charged in the hazing case that rocked the school and Chandler district.
Instead, the district writes the two would be moved to other positions within the district.
"Mr. James and Mr. Rustad have cooperated fully during the last few months, placing the needs of Hamilton High School and the District above their own," the letter reads.
According to the letter, James will replace a retiring administrator while Rustad will work to support secondary education.
"The District will benefit from their varied experience and strong skills as we meet the growing needs of our students over the next few years," the district wrote.
