BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A teenager is dead after a car with three people inside crashed Thursday night into a tree in Buckeye, city police said.
The crash happened near Verrado Parkway and Main Street, according to a social media post police made around midnight.

At about 10 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a car for passing through a stop sign. The driver took off speeding.
A short time later, an officer observed the same car speeding with no headlights on along Verrado Parkway. The officer later discovered the vehicle had crashed into a tree.
The 18-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital. Another passenger, 18-year-old Yaritza Vasquez, died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
