Chandler police identify officers injured in Walmart shooting

Chandler police have identified Joshua Pueblo and Daniel Colwell as the officers injured in a shooting at a Walmart on Saturday.

Chandler police have identified Joshua Pueblo and Daniel Colwell as the officers injured in a shooting at a Walmart on Saturday.

Pueblo, 34, has been with the department since January 2013. He underwent surgery on Saturday and is in intensive care at Chandler Regional.

Colwell, 28, has served with Chandler police since December 2014. He was released from the hospital.

Pueblo and Colwell were shot Saturday in a confrontation with a transient man.

The suspect in the shooting, 24-year-old Mitchell Oakley, died.

According to police, Oakley fired as soon as the first officer entered the store, hitting him multiple times. The second officer went inside, was shot multiple times, and shot Oakley.
