CHANDLER, Ariz. — One patient was transported to the hospital Thursday after reports of a "chemical spill" at the Intel plant in Chandler, the fire department said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the Intel facility near Chandler Boulevard and Rural Road for an incident involving some sort of chemical spill. One individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, according to the Chandler Fire Department.
The spill has since been mitigated by staff and fire crews.
Known as Chandler's largest employer, Intel is one of the world's largest semiconductor chip manufacturers and has had a presence in the East Valley since the 1980s.
