PHOENIX - Grab a picture book, short read or novel for your kids because Monday is International Children’s Book Day.
The day is usually celebrated near author Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday.
At Changing Hands in Phoenix, Emmy Widener said the biggest sellers have to do with female empowerment and social acceptance.
“There are books for children of all ages,” she said. “We also have a bunch of events coming up for Changing Hands.”
Children’s Book week is the first week in May.
“It starts on April 29, we will have a reception with illustrators to do a live painting,” she said. “We will have Molly Idle from Pixar.”
