CAVE CREEK, Ariz. - A woman was arrested in Cave Creek Thursday for allegedly trying to kill her husband with antifreeze, according to police.
In August, Connie Eskelson claimed she found her husband unconscious at their home.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said tests at the hospital revealed a potential lethal dose of ethylene glycol, the active ingredient in antifreeze, in his system.
Family members told detectives they thought he was poisoned.
At the time, the victim had no brain activity, but he was able to make a full recovery, according to the sheriff's office.
Over several months, detectives said they were able to track down several purchases made by Eskelson for lab-grade ethylene glycol.
The sheriff's office said detectives believe she tainted her husband's drinks with ethylene glycol on a daily basis.
Detectives arrested Eskelson at her home on Thursday and booked her into the 4th Avenue Jail.
She is being held on a $700,000 bond.
