Buckeye Verrado Shopping Center breaks ground

Approximately 17,000 permanent jobs will be created when the shopping center is created. It will be open in spring of 2026.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — Groundbreaking on a new West Valley shopping mall has begun.

The Verrado Marketplace is coming to Buckeye and is set to open in the spring of 2026. The 500,000-square-foot ground-up development will include a performance stage, PopJet Splash Pad, outdoor fireplace, and indoor and outdoor dining options. Target, Harkins BackLot, Safeway, Marshalls, Ross and HomeGoods are all on the list of retailers at the shopping center.

“Instead of having to drive east on I-10 to go to restaurants and commercial space and places to shop, that’s coming to us now,” Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn said. “It’s a short drive or a bike ride or a walk to get to these places instead of a 20-minute drive to get to Goodyear or Surprise or further east.”
