The 16-year-old is a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo and serves as an inspiration to other teenagers with special needs.

Athan knows no hurdles.

"I am unstoppable," Athan said.

The teen was all smiles when Barry Farrah, the owner of Champion Air, surprised him with the youth excellence award.

"We're just so proud of you and all the hard work you put into your community, you're the master of masters," Farrah said.

Athan, not letting Autism deter him from his dedication to advancing in Taekwondo, is being recognized as a champion.

"I feel amazing and it's important to keep going and don't give up," Athan said.

Athan's mom, Norma shared that he's won the Arizona state ATA Champion title and ATA District Champion Title.

At the end of July, Athan will compete for the World Champion title right here in Phoenix.

Norma said Athan is a kid who can inspire any family. She said when someone works hard and doesn't give up, you can see the results of that consistency and dedication.
