GLENDALE, Ariz. — An investigation was underway after a bicyclist was seriously hurt in a suspected DUI crash late Wednesday night, Glendale police said.

Officers from the Glendale and Tohono O'Odham police departments were called to the area of 93rd and Northern avenues near the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino for reports of a crash.

When they arrived, they found a man being treated by first responders after he was reportedly struck by a pickup truck while bicycling through a nearby crosswalk.

Police said that impairment was a factor in the crash and the pickup truck driver was arrested.

Tohono O'Odham police will handle the crash investigation while Glendale police will handle the DUI investigation, officials said.

Police did not immediately release the identities of the driver or the bicyclist.
