Bicyclist dies after being hit by vehicle in Glendale

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A bicyclist has died after being hit by a vehicle in Glendale, according to authorities.

The Glendale Police Department said the man was struck Saturday morning near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Police said the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic are closed on 59th Avenue from Camelback Road to Missouri Avenue. Both 67th Avenue and 51st Avenue can be used as alternative routes.

The driver remained on the scene following the crash. Impairment is not believed to be a factor., according to police.

The bicyclist's name has not been released.
