Former officer Phillip Brailsford is charged with second degree murder in Shaver's death. Shaver was unarmed and a Mesa police investigators found Shaver's movements toward his waistband were likely the result of Shaver trying to pull his pants up.

From police documents released earlier this week, we know Shaver was on his knees, facing officers in the La Quinta hotel hallway.

The medical examiner's report does not say in which order the shots came, but lists them by location. Shaver was shot once in the chest and a bullet grazed his chest. Another went into his right leg.

Two others entered the back of his neck and the left side of his back, possibly exiting Shaver's right chest area, the report said.

The report said investigators did not find drugs in Shaver's system, but did find ethyl alcohol.

Two other people in Shaver's room that night said Shaver had been drinking.
