PHOENIX — A "person of interest" who may be connected to a brush fire burning in north Phoenix is now in police custody, fire officials said.
The fire broke out overnight on Thursday and spread to about an acre as of 5:30 a.m. Friday.
Firefighters are working to extinguish hot spots and make sure the fire is completely out. Officials said there aren't any major concerns about structures in the general area.
Investigators are still working to determine how the fire started, and haven't ruled out arson as a possible cause.
This is a developing story and details are subject to change.
