Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run in Carefree

The arrest comes nearly three months after 27-year-old David Hadrich was hit by a pickup truck and later died.

CAREFREE, Ariz. — A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed 27-year-old David Hadrich in December of 2023.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the hit-and-run on Cave Creek and Pima roads on Dec. 10, 2023, just before 1 p.m. A silver and white pickup truck hit Hadrich, who was riding a motorcycle. Hadrich later died at a Valley hospital.

During the investigation on Feb. 9, 2024, the Glendale Police Department received a call for service. The caller said the suspected truck was located in a storage yard in Glendale.

The truck led to the identification of 28-year-old Jose Andres Guerrero Talamantes.

“Successful identification of a suspect in this investigation was made possible through the hard work and dedication of MCSO Detectives/support personnel and the community’s assistance in providing lead information,” Maricopa County Sheriff Russ Skinner said in a news release. “While these investigations are complex, we remain committed to public safety and serving our community.”

Talamantes was arrested on March 1 and booked into custody for felony hit-and-run charges involving death.
