PHOENIX — Days are getting warmer and summer is coming. What better time to adopt your furry best friend than now?

The Arizona Humane Society is offering free dog adoptions from May 31 to June 9 as part of BISSELL Pet Foundation's "Empty the Shelter" campaign. Anyone who is looking to adopt a dog can go to any of the AHS locations across the Valley and adopt with no fee.

AHS is caring for almost 1,000 pets between three locations and foster homes, with more animals coming in each day. Just like Brutus.

Brutus has been in AHS care for over 100 days since an emergency animal technician rescued him. Brutus' previous owner died and there was no one to take care of the four-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix.

Brutus is more than ready to find his "furever" home this summer, along with many other pets at AHS.

All adopted pets from AHS are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They also have a free follow-up at the VCA Hospital pet exam. For more information, you can visit the AHS adoption website here.

Not looking to adopt quite yet? You can still help AHS provide care for dogs by fostering. For more information, head to the AHS foster website.
