Adult, child injured on miniature train in Gilbert

The miniature train is operated by Freestone railroad and fell over just after noon on Friday, police say.

GILBERT, Ariz. — Two people are injured following a miniature train toppling over in Gilbert, police said.

Gilbert police department responded to Freestone Park in Gilbert in reference to the miniature train. The train is privately operated by Freestone Railroad.

The train toppled over while in operation, police said. Gilbert Fire & Rescue responded and provided treatment. Police said an adult and a child passenger were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they do not know if the child and the adult injured are related.

The cause of the train toppling over was not released and neither were the identities of the two people injured.
