ADOT: Loop 101 ramps at 90th St. Pima Road set to close

If you normally use the Loop 101 on and off ramps at 90th Street in Scottsdale, plan an alternate route for the next couple of months starting tomorrow.

ADOT says all four of the Loop 101 ramps at that location are scheduled to close at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday. It's all part of the ongoing freeway-widening project between Shea Boulevard and the Loop 202.

The 90th Street ramps will be reconstructed to fit the path of the wider freeway. The ramps are due to reopen by mid-October.

ADOT said 90th Street will remain open to through traffic under Loop 101 unless the work requires temporary closures. While crews set up the ramp closures, 90th Street will be closed at the Loop 101 from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to use nearby ramps at Shea Boulevard or Via De Ventura.

The Indian School and Indian Bend road ramps on the Loop 101 are closed for construction. ADOT said this week the Loop 101 ramp at Indian School Road should reopen August 21 while the Indian Bend ramp on the Loop 101 is scheduled for a mid-September reopening.

The roadwork on the Loop 101 in Scottsdale is part of a $72 million project to add new right lanes along the Loop 101 between Shea Boulevard and the Loop 202. ADOT is looking at a 2016 completion date.
