3 years after her body found, Tempe college student's death unsolved

Authorities say 19-year-old Adrienne Salinas was reported missing by her father on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Three years ago today, a Tempe college student disappeared.

Authorities say 19-year-old Adrienne Salinas was reported missing by her father on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013.

Months later, her remains were found in Apache Junction, but police have yet to crack the murder case, which remains open and active.

Francisco Arteaga, Salinas's boyfriend at the time, recalls the last time he saw her three years ago.

"It's unfortunate something so tragic happened to someone so beautiful," he said.

Arteaga said they had just left a party at Salinas' apartment in Tempe. He said they got in a fight and Salinas got out of the car and didn't say anything.

Later that night, police believe Salinas drove a short distance and had an accident in the area of Rio Salado and Ash.

Police say she called a cab to meet at a gas station at Hardy and University but never showed up.

Her remains were later found in a wash near Apache Junction.
