MESA, Ariz. - The Mesa Fire and Medical Department says three people were injured in an explosion south of the air traffic control tower at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
According to fire officials, the explosion occurred away from the runway during a transfer of natural gas.
Fire officials said one person has serious injuries.
