PHOENIX - Phoenix Fire Department said there were five people being evaluated after a serious crash at 67th Avenue and Thomas Road Wednesday morning.
According to Phoenix Fire, the crash involved multiple vehicles and three people, all from different cars, were transported to nearby hospitals in extremely critical condition.
Later in the day, Phoenix Police Department reported that two patients had died.
Officers believe the cars traveling in opposite directions on Thomas Road collided head on and a third car was struck in the collision.
A woman driver and a male passenger from the two cars who collided head on have died, police said. Another patient remains in critical condition and the driver of the third car has a serious injury.
