PHOENIX — A toddler was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Phoenix, according to officials with the Phoenix Fire Department.
First responders were called to the area of South 27th Avenue and West Baseline Road around 6 p.m. for reports of an unresponsive child who was not breathing. CPR was given to the child before EMS arrived, officials said, and the child was rushed to a hospital.
As of Friday morning, the toddler's condition has stabilized, a spokesman with Phoenix police told 12News.
The scene has been turned over to the Phoenix Police Department for an investigation.
