GLENDALE, Arizona — Editor's note: The above video was from an April 8 newscast.
A 2-year-old girl died after she was pulled from a pool at a home in Glendale on Wednesday.
The Glendale Police Department said Thursday the girl was found in the pool at the home near 51st and Northern avenues and she was not breathing.
Police and fire paramedics arrived on scene to find the girl's father providing CPR.
Paramedics treated the girl and took her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators learned the girl, her mother and her 5-year-old brother were at home in the backyard.
The father, who was also home at the time, was in the backyard working on renovations.
At one point, the mother went inside and left the children outside with their father.
The father went to look for his children and realized his daughter was in the pool. It is unknown how long the child was underwater.
There was no pool fence in the backyard and no child safety lock on the doors, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
