AVONDALE, Ariz. — Two students were arrested Friday morning after they were allegedly seen waving a gun from inside a vehicle outside La Joya Community High School in Avondale.
Police officers were dispatched to the school at about 7:40 a.m. after the two students were seen holding the firearm, according to the Avondale Police Department.
School staff managed to identify the two students, resulting in officers searching their vehicle and finding a handgun. Both juveniles were taken into custody.
No threats were reported among the school's students and staff, police said.
