Man riding motorcycle at 'high rate of speed' hits woman in Phoenix parking lot, both suffer life-threatening injuries, police say

Footage from Sky12 shows a large police presence on the scene with an area near the entrance to the parking lot blocked off.

PHOENIX — A crash between a motorcycle and a pedestrian sent both people involved to a Phoenix hospital Thursday night with serious injuries, according to officials with the Phoenix Fire Department.

First responders were called to the parking lot of a gym near 56th Street and Thunderbird Road at 9 p.m. Thursday and found a man and a woman with life-threatening injuries. Both were rushed to a hospital in "extremely critical condition," fire officials said.

Officials with the Phoenix Police Department said it appears a man on a motorcycle was traveling at a "high rate of speed" in the parking lot and hit a woman who was walking.

Footage from Sky12 shows a large police presence on the scene with an area near the entrance to the parking lot blocked off.

Phoenix police are investigating the crash.
