2 in custody, 1 injured following shooting in Chandler

There is still one suspect outstanding, police say.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — One person is injured, two suspects are in custody and one suspect is still outstanding following a shooting in Chandler Friday night.

Chandler police officers responded to the area of State Route 202 and Chandler Village Drive for multiple reports of shots being heard. When officers got to the scene, they learned the shots heard were the result of a fight that occurred nearby. The fight appeared to be among people who knew one another. 

Three people from the groups were involved: one person was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg, two people are in custody pending further investigation and one suspect is still outstanding. Police said there is no danger to the public.

There are no road restrictions in place because of the shooting.
