2 dead following shooting in Surprise

Surprise police responded to a business near Bell Road and State Route 303 for reports of a gunshot.

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Two people are dead following a shooting in Surprise, the city's police department said.

Surprise police officers responded to a business near Bell Road and State Route 303 for reports of a gunshot around 5 a.m. When officers got to the area, they found two people near a vehicle with gunshot wounds.

Both people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Surprise police said there are no outstanding suspects and there is no threat to the surrounding area. 

Detectives will be at the scene for several hours but there will be no traffic restrictions.
