SURPRISE, Ariz. — A 49-year-old man is dead after he allegedly killed his ex-wife's boyfriend and then shot himself, police said.
Surprise police officers responded to a business near Bell Road and State Route 303 for reports of a gunshot around 5 a.m. When officers got to the area, they found two men with gunshot wounds near a vehicle in the parking lot.
Both of the men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Surprise police said the deceased individuals have been identified as Lucas Izzo and 43-year-old Daniel Roman.
Roman was shot multiple times and Izzo died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Investigators learned Roman had been dating Izzo's ex-wife. Police believe Izzo allegedly shot Roman without provocation.
No other injuries were reported.
