GOODYEAR, Ariz. — First responders are on the scene of a HAZMAT situation in Goodyear that sent 15 people to the hospital Thursday morning.
An employee at a warehouse near Yuma Road and Bullard Avenue reported a strange smell coming from a forklift battery inside, officials with the Goodyear Fire Department said.
HAZMAT crews were called in to remove the forklift and all employees were evacuated.
Crews took 15 people in total to the hospital, fire department officials said. Fortunately, all were in stable condition.
Employees were cleared to return after the building was fully ventilated. The investigation is still underway.
