PHOENIX - More than 100 volunteers will create a special message for Memorial Day. The 10,000-flag tribute will spell out "Salute to Sacrifice" on the University of Phoenix lawn.
It's a symbol of appreciation for servicemembers, their families and veterans. Last year's message spelled out "For the Fallen."
At the end of the week, the flags will be taken out of the ground and donated to cemeteries across the Phoenix area.
