PHOENIX — One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning for minor burn injuries after reports of an explosion in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
At about 9:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the area of Tatum Boulevard and Thunderbird Road for a possible explosion at a commercial structure. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed smoke emanating from a building that's currently under renovation.
The fire was contained and did not spread to other structures, the fire department said.
A propane leak has resulted in a hazmat team getting sent out to the scene.
Firefighters are in the process of determining what caused the explosion. No other injuries were reported.
