PHOENIX — Police identified the man who was shot in central Phoenix on Friday evening. He died later on at a local hospital, police said.
Phoenix police officers were called to a fight at an apartment complex near 19th and Northern avenues at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday. While officers traveled to the scene, they were advised by the 911 caller that shots were being fired, police said.
Officers found a man, later identified as 28-year-old Quincy McMillion, suffering from a gunshot wound during their investigation. McMillion was transported to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries, police said.
Details regarding what led up to the incident were not released. The identity of the man who died also was not released.
